Connacht travel to Geneva to play Oyonnax in the Challenge Cup on Saturday October 14th

This is new territory for Connacht. One of seven countries we will visit this season!

When: Saturday October 14th, 20:00
Where: Stade de Geneve, Geneva

Tickets

Tickets are available from https://www.billetterie.usorugby.com/

Buy tickets for Tribune Ouest. It is free seating so we will find a spot once we're in there.

Getting there

Reasonably straightforward to get to this one. Flights from Dublin to Geneva with Aer Lingus and Swiss. These are quite pricey now if you're doing a last minute trip but the Swiss flight home early on Monday morning is still affordable. Flying out, you may be cheaper to go indirectly at this stage. Easyjet fly to Geneva from a number of UK airports.

Lyon is an option as well.

You can avail of a free travel ticket in the luggage hall of the airport that will get you to your hotel for free. Once you check in you can pick up a free travel pass for the duration of your stay.

Accommodation

Plenty of accommodation in Geneva, though it's not the cheapest place in Europe!

Hotel accommodation does not seem to be in abundant supply in Oyonnax itself as it's not a huge town.

Hospitality

Mulligans (Rue de Grenus) confirmed they can show the other rugby for us if we're in (or in Charly O'Neill's). No everlasting happy hour or any such Melting Pot-esque deals unfortunately.

The Clubhouse (25 Rue Philippe-Plantamour) are offering a "pre match burger and beer deal for CHF15" (half price) for Connacht supporters on Saturday 14 October. Just present your match ticket to avail of the deal. Thanks to Maria for sorting that out and letting us know on the Clan Forum.

Provisional plan is to go to Mulligans for the Ulster game on Friday night for those who are around.

We've been in touch with the Oyonnac supporters' club. We will meet up with them at the Stade de Geneve on matchday.

Match Day Transport

Bus D goes from the city centre (Bel-Air) right to the stadium. Don't forget that you can get a free travel card from your hotel that allows you to use all the public transport in the city for the duration of your stay.

Things to see

If you like plastic, you will love Oyonnax. It was the centre of the French plastics industry and it has a plastic museum.

Geneva has plenty to keep you busy.
