I have just watched St Geralds Castlebar put over 30 points on Garbally and keeping their illustrious visitors to nil. This follows on from CBS Roscommon beating Colaiste Iognaid so what ever happens a new name will be on the cup. Personally i believe this shows the positive expansion of rugby in the region, however somebody suggested to me that its the slipping of the traditional strongholds. Just wondering what the experts think?

Well garbally and Sligo play in the senior final which is quite traditional afaik. Although Marist won the previous 2 senior cups which were their 1st success since the 70s iirc.it will be interesting to see how the football hierarchy react in Roscommon CBS to this threat. Its a small school so there has to be a number of dual players there.
