This was discussed at a commitee meeting tonight, and the initial proposal is:
The shortlist of nominees will be drawn up by the committee each year
A poll for each nominee will set up on this forum
Each nominee must receive a number of votes which meets the quota to get into the Hall of Fame
Got no problem with this but think it should be open for people in the clan to be able to put forward a nomination as in a 'for your consideration' type thing. It doesn't mean it has to be accepted but the option should be there.
Also think you needs to release more detail about the process Decadence.
Like do we have one vote each etc?
How many people will be picked and can they all be put in?
More info please!

Of course this means we have to set a quota each year (I imagine somewhere in the region of 40/50 to begin with). This should hopefully mean that we're very selective about who gets in, without limiting ourselves too much about how many can be inducted in any one year.
Is this site the right place for the vote? To be honest there aren't many of us on here compared to say the facebook page.
And was Diom at the committee meeting? I've been trying to contact him to no avail.

Agree with this. I also think the clan needs to put down some guidelines going forward for future years. Last year with Ray and Keith it was a no brainer. This year its a little more complicated which is why we need clear guidelines to make it a smooth process each year.

It should be reserved exclusively for players and officials who's contribution to Connacht has been far greater than than their basic role demands. It should include players who made major contributions while with us, but who have continued to bring reflected glory through their continued excellence elsewhere.
In the pro era you are probably talking about on the playing side Eric, Mul, Swifty, Gav, JO'C, Andrew Farley, Macca possibly Ray Ofisa (unsung hero) and that's about it..
I don't disagree with any of that SP, but it's worth noting that Connacht have their own HoF to which those criteria are probably more suited.
I suppose this is the "Clan" hall of fame and the rules should probably be a bit different, maybe focusing on recipient's standing with the fan base , otherwise we're just duplicating what already exists.
That being the case, I don't see the point in the Clan going to the expense of duplicating it if Connacht Rugby have already instigated it, one would take a little shine off the other. I would much prefer to see more attention being focused on annual awards like Clan Player of The Season, Young player of the Season and Unsung Hero, Clan Volunteer etc. awards. Maybe get Awards Boards set up in the Clan Bar so that Supporters can see who have been our outstanding contributors from season to season...

It may not be a runner at all, and totally understand if not. I have no dealings with the running of the clan, and apologies if this is inappropriate, but just thought it may be a nice touch to say congratulations.

As for Flav I think that Flav has given his all to the club and done a lot for us as a leader and as a person. Not every player can be Keith Woods but Flav has stayed with us through thick and thin and sacrificed a lot for this club. He's an honest pro who deserves the accolade. I get your point though of not giving it to every one who retires which is why I think it should have a limited amount each year. It doesn't have to be two but I think there should be a cutting off point like four or five otherwise it stops being special.
