The polls are closed and the results are in. The first recipients of the Connacht Clan Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season have been decided by the Connacht fans.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON - RONAN LOUGHNEY

Ronan Loughney endured a steep learning curve this year after the Galway prop switched sides in the scrum and became one of the first names on the team sheet each week. An avid wood-carver, Ronan certainly carved out a name for himself among the Connacht Supporters with consistently top-class propping this season. His star has certainly risen and calls for him to be on the plane to New Zealand for the Irish summer tour are being made and hopefully heard. With over 1000 minutes of top class rugby under his belt this year, it is a well-deserved award.

YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON - TIERNAN O'HALLORAN

Fresh from his award of Young Player of the Year from Connacht Rugby, Tiernan has gone on to pick up another one... this time from the fans. Tiernan was marked out as a talent following his successes with the Ireland U'20s team and has gone on to flourish in Connacht, among an increasingly dangerous backline. The winger has had a great season and his importance to the team is underlined by the fact that every game he has started (20/21 in the Rabo, 7/7 in the ERC) he has played the full 80 minutes. It also highlights the great conditioning work done at Connacht.

Well done to both players on being honoured by the Connacht fan base.
