I'm going to Russia to visit my wife's grandparents so I cannot look like a hippy. They'd ship me to Siberia.

I turned up last year and asked for Diom at the bar. It turned out that my assumption that seeing Diom is in charge of the Clan, and the bar is called The Clan Bar, and they Clan do a lot of work sorting out stuff in the bar then the guy behind the counter would be happy to help was out by a factor of quite a lot. Rude fecker.

He's always rushed about that fella. Seems rude, but realy is just very busy.

He'd know me to see, but not likely to know my forum handle. I just missed you apparently. I had to run home to get a camera to video the interviews. You found Dec though right?

Shelflife

I have the same problem

Only know some of the people by their Forum name (am bad at remembering names at the best of times).

I will start things off by changing my Forum photo at the weekend and adding my name to my posts.

I'd asked for you by name, he didn't seem too Clan friendly! I spoke to a couple of the guys, it was good to say hello. I was with two Glaswegians who were understandably happy and were hell bent on hitting the town asap, so we didn't hang about.

But I'll be over again. I always make one game a year :)

Yeah I really didn't do myself any favours when I choose my forum name! Introducing yourself as The IMF remains a majorly embarrassing task!!!

I've been thinking about what Shelflife was saying and have created the following thread to try to kill two birds with one stone:

www.connachtclan.com/forum/4-the-connach...ns-a-expertise#18469

Hopefully we'll get to know one another a bit better and also put together a sort of Clan Yellow (Green?) Pages for getting work done around the Clan bar etc.

reading about the toulouse trip etc, looking for people for buses. not sure if its too early for some but always good to think ahead and be ready when needs be.
i know zebre game is first and same idea can be used, but ill use toulouse as an example.

is there any way the clan can have a raffle where you enter via email and with the T&C's when free entering, you sign up to the clans weekly/special offers/news letter.
ive no idea how many different people look at the forum each week. so spreading the latest news via email will be handy.

how about asking the branch for a page in the match day programme. if the answer is no, how about little leaflets, ie 6 printed on one sheet and cut out and by hand put into the programme.
id help do this the morning of match days, if im free.

this would inform supporters that the clan is getting together a bus transfer from the airport to toulouse. if alot of people sign up and state what time they land at, pinky had the prices and if the mini bus/coach isnt full, its still at a nice price.
also stick up poster in the clan bar. 100 of them. you could then pay at a selected match day, ie €15 and you get €10 back (66% money back) if you pull out.

I think thats an excellent idea. Posters around the Clan Bar is the easiest option, but if we could get a page, or half a page in the programme, all the better

We can definitely do up posters and probably could arrange something for a match day programme.
What are you looking for exactly? People to register their interest in a bus from Toulouse airport to where?

All the bus suggestions, etc. are in the travel forum. Basically we are looking at a bus from Carcassonne to Toulouse (me and swift4prez) and one from Bologna to Parma (FourDogs).

Ok maybe Im missing something here and if I am I apologise. But how does Joe Soap supporter find out about the clan and what they are about.

Would it be an idea to have a table/stall in the clan bar or outside it if its fine to promote the club and this site.

Also maybe we could have a meeting point again perhaps in the clan bar where we could "formally" meet after the Zebre game. would the idea of having your username on a name badge be a bit twee or a good idea?

On your first point, we working towards having a proper 'steer' towards the Clan at games shortly. As regards meeting up, a few of us stall on for a pint in the 'changing room' part of the Clan bar after pretty much every game. My pic is there beside me, Decadence is in the middle. Hard to miss us, so please do come up and introduce yourself. More people to talk shite to after a game is always welcome.

And don't forget about the AGM NEXT weekend, we're planning to at least head for a few pints after.

Edit: I don't know how to work a calender.
