Hi kcreg, hope ye enjoy the trip to Galway.

The bus service from Knock to Galway isn't great as far as I know, perhaps someone could provide you with more information on that but think its only once or twice a day. Bus Eireann run the service as far as I know.

In terms of a taxi, might be worth contacting these lads. www.knockairporttaxis.com/ Obviously it would be dearer than a bus but heard they aren't overly dear and may be more convenient depending on prices, schedule etc. Perhaps e-mail them in advance and get a price.

You should be able to buy your tickets on the day, our games against Leinster, Munster and maybe a big Heineken game like Toulouse are the only ones that sell out or come close to selling out.

Admission is: Adult Gold €25 (inside the glass, prawn sandwich area!!)
Adult €20 (standard admission)
Concession €15
Junior (12-18) €5 (could get in for free though)
Children (u12) free

I'm sure other posters will have more detailed information.

Hey kcreg,
We are working on a Galway Guide, which will be out before the season starts, but I personally would recommend (simply from experience) to have your tickets in advance. I just find it is one less thing to worry about. That said if you want a memento of the trip then the print out tickets are not the nicest ones.

From the ConnachtClan site? No. You get them on ticketmaster.ie. Just search for Connacht and you should be able to find them.

As I understand it under12s require tickets only for HEC and interprovinicals (the other Irish teams), otherwise they're free as long as they're accompanied.

@ the Gate non inter-pro

Adult Gold
€25

Adult
€20

Family
n/a

Concession
€15

Junior (12-18)

Children (u12)

ya thats good info. my guess is your coming in friday/saturday and leaving sunday.

sunday, bus galway - knock airport
8.45 - 10.25
12.00 - 13.40
14.10 - 15.50
16.00 - 17.55

you could also rent a car, decent one for €56 when a return for the bus for 2adults and a child is €51 return. €5 extra for peace and freedom! got to be taking fuel into account of coarse. www.budget.ie/quotation.php

game is in the middle of the day saturday so touring in the car could be limited on saturday unless you left for the cliffs of mohar early in the morning to be back before 3pm.

kcreg,

The Sportsground is a little more than a 5 minute walk from Eyre Square in the center of Galway City. There are lots of pubs there. O'Connells is one of the more popular with Connacht fans, but it is a small place, and probably not great for children.
Directly across the Square is a bar called The Skeff. It is a much bigger place, which does food, and accomodation, and would be a lot more child friendly.

There are lots of bars within a 10 minute walk from the Stadium, but depending on where you plan to stay, I can offer better recomendations

In that case I'd recommend the hunstman - nice bar that does food, child friendly, and the closest one to the ground.
