Announcement moved up to today.

Our friends in the other provinces seem to be scratching their head over Marmion too.

It's official.

Silver lining: We have Marmion for the Pro14 games.

Absoutely gutted for him. He's done everything asked of him, he's in the form scrumhalf playing in Ireland at the moment.

Chuffed for Jack and Bundee. They'll do us proud in Japan.

Have to mention Finlay as well, who was in the 41 man squad. I reckon he knew the writing was on the wall, but still not a great day for him.

I would say Blade has shown better from than him in the past year. Gutted for him all the same

Absolutely sickened for Marmion. Can't imagine how he's feeling.

Absolute joke! Murray has shown absolutely nothing since his return from injury, he was distinctly average for Munster in the HC. McGrath is a good player but it's hard to see how he's gone from being behind Marmion and Cooney during the 6N to outright number 2. Good news for Connacht that we'll have Marms available but sickening for the poor fella. Must be pointed out that the omission of Jordi Murphy doesn't exactly do a lot for efforts to get players to move provinces. Better off staying as 3rd choice at Leinster....

I'm absolutely disgusted at Joe, as a Connacht fan it's a real kick in the teeth that Marmion has been left out, McGrath is bang average, I've never wished injury on a player but I hope himself and Kleyn get injured at the weekend, because neither deserve to be at the RWC, Toner also should be fuming, whatever bull Joe sprouts just makes me madder, great coach but the poor man hasn't a clue how to pick a squad without a few howlers. Takes so much of my interest away from the world cup now.

McGrath is a closer style match to murray but why not bring all three? From a purely logistics pov he now has to play both 9s in every game and if one gets injured he's dragging marmion around the world. Also disappointed for toner rarely puts a foot wrong, one of the best locks in world rugby and we know we'll play nz or sa who have excellent lineouts, I don't understand it. Could joe be sacrificing toner because he won't be needed in the group games?

Disgraceful by Schmidt, but no surprise really. 3 Ulstermen and 2 Connacht men travel. Meanwhile we have 12 (twelve!!!) from Munster. The selection of Kleyn and Luke McGrath is disgraceful. He's also made the wrong call on Kilcoyne. Good in the loose, but with 20mins to go in the q/final vs South Africa you'd prefer Jack McGrath in a defensive scrum!

Absolutely gutted for Marmion. Imagine never letting the side down for 4 years just to be dropped and miss out on the world cup for a player who at best is no better.

I feel awful for Kieran, but this happens every time a world cup squad is selected. With only 31 places, there's always a couple of high profile omissions. The focus since yesterday has been on those marginal calls, but the squad itself looks good to me. I would be worried about the lineout however, because teams will go after us in that department, and if it starts poorly it could unravel pretty quickly. Two and a half weeks to kick off against Scotland, and I'm really looking forward to it.

A lot of hypocrisy in the media commentary around the Jean Kleyn selection, the ex Leinster players in the media didn't give a fiddlers when it was Ultan Dillane getting dropped for Kleyn, offering platitudes safe in the knowledge that their boy was guaranteed his place in Japan, but when it is one of theirs it becomes an outrage.

I watched the Wales games on C4, Heaslip is fast becoming one of my more disliked commentators.

Great to see Bundee have a great game today. Henshaw was up to speed from the start, don't know how many times they talked about the PRO12 Connacht partnership and Jack was great when he got on.

Little Lukey Fitzgerald - that over-promoted clown who was injured more often than fit during his short career - I see is vomiting in today's Indo of the outrage that is Bundee's likely inclusion in the team to play Scotland over the blue-eyed boy Ringrose. Not content with their success in lobbying that Little Lukey McGrath made the tour instead of KM, the blue rinse goys are now up in arms that Bundee might actually keep Ringrose out.
It's an outrage!!

Outrage leads to clicks leads to sales leads to money. Don't feed the trolls, stick to those that are fair (not biased for or against) Connacht. Craggy, Irish Times (GT especially), Murray Kinsella etc.

Don't think there'll be quite so much giving out when/if Lowe gets a nod next year.

(although I always had great time for Luke when he was playing, have to say. Can't fault a man for his injuries!)
