Women's Rugby in Connacht

Given the magnificent performance by the Irish team, does anyone know the status in terms of women's rugby in Connacht? Ihave come across a few games in Dublin, usually Belvo, and there are some very good players about. There also seems to be lots more girls playing minis also.
It's a shame the 6 Nations have not been televised, even if RTE didn't want it, I'd have thought TG4 might have picked it up.

Buccs have a senior team but no underage structure. A few girls train with the boys but there are no teams for them to play in. Galwegians also have a senior team afaik.

NUI Galway had a brilliant Women's team when I was there. Don't know how there doing now but for a few years they were putting the boys to shame.

That was a close one, but fantastic that Ireland won the Grand Slam. Terrible conditions, poor pitch. The very least they should expect is a proper pitch to play on.
Hopefully this inspires some more ladies to go out and play.

There are currently 7 adult women's teams....Tuam, Buccaneers, Sligo, Carrick on Shannon, Castlebar, Galwegians and NUIG. Youths teams (U18's and U15's) are Westport, Ballina, Tuam, Connemara and NUIG..The youths section is growing slowly but surely...at mini level, thry play non contact rugby, and the clubs that have their girls only mini sections are Galwegians, South Sligo, Claremorris, South Sligo, Westport, Tuam, Oughterard. Here's hoping the.womrn's game will.continue to grow after the Irish women's success!!

Ireland lost 19-15 to France. An enjoyable game with the maul working well for Ireland but overall France probably deserved to win it imo. The ref unlike the English game wasn't a completer loon.

All are in the matchday squad for Italy. Sene on the bench and the others all start.
