Folks I'm starting a new thread so that this doesn't get lost in the other one.

I was into Elverys in the Retail park a few mins ago & they have received a couple of Small & Large Green Heineken Cup Jerseys. They're out of the Purple Jerseys.

They have sent a rep around Connacht to collect the remainder of both Jerseys from all Elvery Stores & the manager has agreed to let me know exactly how many he collected at about 3 today so that we can give Connacht Clan members first refusal!

I will post again as soon as he contacts me to advise on quantities. He also informed me that there won't be any Heineken or Purple Jerseys on the Truck in the Sportsground as he expects them all to be sold!

They still have good stock of the normal Green & Black Connacht Jerseys.

He said they can't get over the buzz around Connacht Merchandise this season. He said it's better than the Munster/Leinster launches this year!

...which is as it should be given that these stores are in The Sportsground's back yard! Glad to hear it!

i can never understand how a connacht man would buy a leinster/munster jersey. yes i want then to do well but i dont want to line there pockets. we need to spend our money on our team. 60e for munster jersey when that can nearly get you a season ticket for connacht. would a galway man buy a mayo jersey. would an irish man buy an england jersey. no and no. its finally great to see connacht jersys around town and from time to time i see them in limerick cork and waterford.

Sorry for the missunderstanding! He was comparing the buzz in Galway to the Buzz in the stores in lets say Limerick for a Munster Launch!

@ Connacht Cows: If it's a Green Heineken or Purple Jersey your after you may need to wait until christmas for the next batch of Purple to arrive or possibly January for the Green HC to arrive!

Its great to see all the Connacht kit. Its mad at a leinster or Munster away match how few people wear the green.
Its great for the support of the team but also as a revenue source to fund Rugby in the province. Lets hope they have a few good performances and that Santa is busy delivering jerseys around connacht.

I would think that Connacht Rugby don't get a direct fee from the sale of each shirt (i.e. the more that sell the more they get), they would recieve a set fee as per their contract negotiations and that would cover the cost of team kit for all the representative sides plus an additional stipend.

OK folks just got word from Elverys in the Retail Park that they have received a good few Green Heineken Jerseys in all sizes & only a couple of Purple Jerseys. They have been receiving calls all morning so they probably won't last long!

All depends on the contract and wouldn't be that unusual if they did.Can often be based on a percentage,or a percentage after a certain quantity (To assist Break Even being reached etc) Can be based on the wholesale amount that Elverys buy from the manufacturer or maybe the retail amount for what they actually sell. The jerseys are sold purely because they are Connacht Rugby Jerseys ,so you'd like to think they'd have a financial Interest in greater quantities being sold .Good feedback like this always helps their bargaining power .

Ok ,too much shop talk ,going for a jar

Hi guys, spoke to a manager friend from Elverys yesterday who tells me that there will be more purple jerseys in stock before Christmas, didn't mention numbers though. Also asked him about the green shirts but he couldn't / wouldn't answer that question!!
