Yeah, was at the open training session too. Really enjoyed how the whole crowd strarted getting excited when he got the ball from the 2nd time on.
( His first touch was a try in the corner )
In fairness, he did excellently in the 2nd half in a one on one defensive play.

He's certainly not going to scare anyone with his size but that speed could sure be dangerous especially as sub. It will be hard for him to stay healthy though i'm afraid.
I was pretty close to him at Wasps and he's definitely about the 6'-6'1" mark, given it's his first pre-season as a Pro I expect we'll see him add on some muscle over the next season but not necessarily a huge amount. It's a balance of course because you don't want to dilute his natural assets either..

The little bits I've seen of Niyi on-line he reminded me of Fetu. He seems to be a different type of winger than Healy, Carr and Poolman so touch wood he comes good and we have another asset on our hands.

According to a post on babbling brook John Cooney came on as a sub in a preseason game for Terenure College on Saturday.
Hopefully he'll be packing his bags soon.

Saw a tweet somewhere that he was heading west, galway next stop or something like that.
Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

Actually, coincidentally enough it's exactly 3 years tonight since he made his debut:

Though I think the clock starts ticking as soon as you arrive in the country.

I think we can already see why the Breakdown area has improved this season, especially with the forwards getting in quicker to help clear out.
Lam's comment "So I’ve got Dan with the forwards, and he has the breakdown as well now – he loves that"

good interview with Dave McSharry, sounds like he's looking forward to opposing Ian Madigan...

I added it to the links on the hompage. That weblink submission thing isn't actually working for most people at the minute but I'll try and sort it.

Given the perception that many French players are not getting good game time due to the amount of expensive imports in France, I am surprised that there are virtually no French in the Pro 12 (I may stand corrected).
While, not the same lifestyle, bonds between Ireland and France are reasonably strong. I wonder are there any potential French players, either on the way up or on the way down that could play a role in Connacht, especially in the forwards?
