That will be a test for our young lads.

You have to laugh at Munster though. An A match is the ideal time to give young lads a chance yet they name the likes of Horan, Coughlan, Botha, Gleeson, Varley, and more.

Our youngsters need game time regardless of the opposition.

Very young side announced in reply, happy enough to see these guys get experience regardless of the result...

This youthful Connacht side will face an experienced Munster side with players such as Marcus Horan, Damian Varley, BJ Botha, James Coughlan and Tomás O’Leary all named in the squad.

With players such as Denis Buckley, Mark McCrea, Dave Gannon and Dave Moore all vying for positions in the professional team this is a good opportunity for the whole squad to test themselves against quality opposition.

Very young and exciting Connacht team named.

Good chance for the likes of Gannon, Grace, Moore, Murphy, McKeon and McCrea to stake claims for places in the upcoming games. We need these guys to step up and challenge for starting places.

Would like to have seen Vainikolo get a run out. Maybe he's still injured

Should be an interesting one. Hope to get to it. Very happy with the team we are putting out for this one. An all Irish selection which is a positive. Hopefully we can see some of these lads put their names forward for selection for Cardiff and future games as its going to be a long season. Some are longer term prospects but exposure at this level is a definite positive in their development.

McCrea at 13 is interesting, perhaps a sign he might be tried there v Cardiff with Griffin a doubt.

Looks like it'll be a very strong Munster side for this one which I think is good news.

I know teams are trying to keep costs down for these type of games i.e. played in daylight hours etc. but I really think this could have drawn a half decent crowd on Friday evening. If we are hoping to get fans for the British and Irish Cup games next season I think its important the majority of fans are given a chance to see a few A games this season.

The D. O'Callaghan is Dave, not Donncha, so that's one less international to worry about

Still an incredibly strong Munster team though :'(

I've been hoping to see him there for a while, so it's great to see him being tried out. I wouldn't call him an 'A' player though, he's has started a fair few first XV games. But this is a good time to try him out. Good to see he's over whatever problem he had at the Leinster game, too.

Absolutely a 17.30 kick off would probably bring in a fairly decent crowd (probably enable a few Munster heads to come up as well on the back of a 1/2 day. Earlier KO means full day off) , keep gate free for season ticket holders and €10 otherwise, and only open Clan Bar to half time & Merchandise stall post game only. All done by 7pm, then 45mins tidy up for dogs crowd, with first dogs off at 20.12.....

The have 2 more games, after this one, between now and Christmas so its a great chance for some of the lads to shine. Really looking forward to the match. Would definitely agree that Munster have slightly overdone it. The Munster team have more Irish Caps than the Connacht lads have Senior Cannacht Caps. Bit ridiculous...

Botha, Varley, Horan and TOL.

Munster's waning warriors versus Connacht's up and coming young players. Nice indication of direction of development?

I don't think you can really compare. Three of those are in need of game time. Not sure about Varley, he's just been to NZ and back, seems a strange call putting him in.
